Continuum 2008: 'Greg Reads Harmast Saga'

Book Reading

This is the third in a series of special recordings from Continuum 2008.

This was recorded at Continuum 2008 at John Foster Hall, University of Leicester, Manor Road, Oadby, Leicester, UK on Saturday 2nd August 2008 at 14:00 in the Rotherley Seminar Room.

As part of the ‘Friends of Glorantha’ group, Greg Stafford reads an excerpt from his forthcoming novel 'Harmast Saga'. This section is titled 'Ten Women Well Loved' and details an Orlanthi myth from the God Time.

The second half is an open Question and Answer session with Greg talking about writing and creative works as well as his current situation.

Running Time: 00:55:18.

Continuum 2008: 'State of the Mongoose'

This is the fourth in a series of special recordings from Continuum 2008.

Introduced by Lawrence Whittaker, Matthew Sprange talks about how Mongoose Publishing is doing. The current lines are discussed and about new and future products in the pipeline.

The Flaming Cobra line is for small press publishers to have full use of the Mongoose Publishing machine and distribution while allowing development to remain in-house was mentioned.

The Holy Grail of Mongoose Publishing was *almost* discussed as well!

Continuum 2008: 'So You're New to Glorantha?'

This is the fifth in a series of special recordings from Continuum 2008.

Running Time: 01:02:53.

Continuum 2008: Role Playing and History

This is the sixth in a series of special recordings from Continuum 2008.

This was recorded at Continuum 2008 at John Foster Hall, University of Leicester, Manor Road, Oadby, Leicester, UK on Saturday 2nd August 2008 at 19:30 in the Oakham Seminar Room.

An open discussion about history and using it in role playing games.

The first 29 minutes suffers from background noise from the air conditioning so the recording had to be *tweaked* to get the discussion audible.

Panellist and chair was Mark Galeotti.

Running Time: 01:21:56.

HeroQuest 2.0 Play-test EMD&DMUG part 1.

Actual Play

This is a play-test game of the new HeroQuest 2.0 rules that took place at the East Midlands D&D Meet Up Group's monthly meet that took place at The Brunswick Inn, Derby on Saturday 14th June 2008 at 14:00.

This scenario is called 'Winter Warriors' and deals with player characters that worship the Goddess of Snow, Inora and their dealings with the long and cold Fimbelwinter. The players are Chris and Simon.

Part 1 suffers from a technical hitch as half the sound was lost so you only really hear me and not the players. I tried my best to boost the sound so I hope that you can manage to hear the other players.

Running Time: 01:28:26.

Air & Motion-Session 2 part 1.

Actual Play

This was recorded on Sunday 17th August 2008.

This is the fourth session in the Air & Motion Campaign though this is the second session recorded.

This session is using the HeroQuest 2.0 rules and features a player new to role-playing, my kid sister Amy, making up a player character As-You-Go.

Caracal has brought home the headless body of Knowledge Priest Bromar Greybeard and has thrown the clan into disarray as the ruling ring is broken by his death. The heroes have to work out the mystery of the vile secret murder of the Priest.

Just who could of done this hideous act?

The heroes decide to go to the scene of the crime- a ruined tower that dates back to the Empire of the Wyrms Friends!

Just what will they find there?

Running Time: 01:12:32.

HeroQuest 2.0 Play-test EMD&DMUG part 2.

The first 40 minutes Part 2 suffers from a technical hitch as half the sound was lost so you only really hear me and not the players. I tried my best to boost the sound so I hope that you can manage to hear the other players.

Running Time: 01:31:23.

Word Cloud

Apparently, a wordle is a cloud of the most common words in a text.

Here is mine from my own Blogger Blog.

One Man and His Dice.com

I now have a mirror site containing MP3 versions of my Tentacles 2008 and Continuum 2008 podcasts.
Over the next couple of months this will be updated with the latest Continuum podcasts plus the Air & Motion Actual Plays as well.

One Man and His Dice.com

One Man and His Dice

One thing I have noticed is that the MP3 files are almost twice as big as the M4A versions yet the MP3 do not have the accompanying images that go with every chapter.

Mega HeroQuest Game last Saturday

So a busy game on Saturday.
It looked at one point to be eight players plus me but unfortunately two of the players couldn't make it. Still I had six players I had to cram into my little attic room. Also a wide catchment area for the players as one came from Leeds, two from Stoke-on-Trent, one from Long Eaton and only my two siblings were from Derby.

It ended up being ran in two long sittings but it went very well. Epic and silly at the same time.
Many laughs were had, especially at the GM's expense.
A new Gloranthan metal has discovered though, Me-Lead!

So a good game and expect the podcast to go up by the end of this month.
